I can not say enough good things about this rare and extremely beautiful, vintage late 1950’s-early 1960’s, jewel-tone coat! I have never seen another like it. It was custom made, obviously by a professional, or might even have been a high-end designer sample– although unfortunately, there are no tags. But it is High Class, all the way! The fabric feels like a raw silk (or a possible silk blend, I have not tested it), which has been woven into the most brilliant, jewel tone stripes of Emerald Green, Violet Amethyst, Sapphire Blue, and Olivine. It is extremely well tailored, with an empire waist, a sharp Peter Pan collar, large matching fabric-covered buttons, and the most gorgeous, emerald green lining. Seriously! This coat is one of a kind RARE. Swoonsies <3 A true collector’s piece.

It is in Excellent vintage condition, no flaws found. Clean and ready to wear. Most likely Dry Clean Only, although I would consult a professional, just to be safe. There are no pockets.

Sizewise, I would guesstimate this to be a modern Small-Medium. But please see the measurements below. They were all taken with the garment laying flat, seam to seam, and have already been doubled where necessary. Please compare them to a similar garment of your own. There is not much stretch to the fabric and it is a very structured piece, so leave yourself plenty of wiggle room!

The lovely Jam is 5’2″ tall and modern xs-small, for reference. It was a tad bit big on her, but is shown being modeled UNpinned.

Shoulders->16″ (41 cm)
Bust, buttoned-> 38″ (97 cm)
Hips->42″ (107 cm)
Sleeve length->22″ (56 cm)
Entire length->37″ (94 cm)

Such a breathtaking vintage find! You will not find this fabulous collectible piece anywhere else. So if you love it, don’t let it get away!
