Introducing a very rare, vintage 1970’s, Black halter top jumpsuit by Lanz Original. This label was founded by Josef Lanz of Austria, who started out making traditional folkwear costumes for Austrians attending the Salzburg music festival, before immigrating to the United States in the mid 1930s to set up shop. After WWII, Lanz began to expand their business by creating fashions that were inspired by traditional Austrian folkwear, but which also followed the lines of current fashions. Many of their designs have a traditional Austrian vibe, but this jumpsuit is an example of one of their more sleek modern (70’s) pieces.

Seriously, this is one of the cutest jumpsuits ever! Featuring a sexy, form-fitting halter top, cummerbund style waist tie, and super chic, flowing, palazzo pant, wide legs. The fabric is an easy-care-easy-wear, black polyester jersey. It ties at the neck and waist with generous “bow” potential, and close in back with an acrylic zipper. An uber cute and uber-duber RARE vintage find!

The piece is in Excellent vintage condition. No major flaws to note. Clean and ready to wear. It has a 70’s era Lanz Original tag intact and is unlined. Hand wash and line dry to extend longevity.

The size tag is no longer readable, although I would estimate this to be a modern Small. But please see the measurements below. They were all taken with the garment laying flat, seam to seam, and have already been doubled where necessary. Please compare them to a similar garment of your own. There is good stretch to the fabric and the waist has elastic built in.

For reference, the lovely Electra is 5’8″ tall and a modern small.

Bust->35+” (89+ cm)
Waist, unstretched to stretched comfortably->22″-28″ (55+-71+ cm)
Hips->40″ (101+ cm)
Bodice, waist to lowest point of V-neck-> 9″ (22+ cm)
Rise, waist to crotch-> 12″ (30+ cm)
Inseam->31″ (78+ cm)

Such a rad piece of herstory. And I only have one, so if you love it, don’t let it get away!
