Me-Ow! Introducing an absolutely gorgeous, dramatic, 1980’s LILLIE RUBIN Designer Evening Gown. What a special dress <3
Featuring a body con, curve-hugging silhouette with a daring, thigh high front slit; this dress oozes sensuality, confidence, and glamour. The fabric is a highly unusual, intricately painted, synthetic mesh– made in Italy. Each tiny square is subtly colored, then highlighted in metallic-gold geometric patterns, Earth Goddessy spirals, and other strange and wonderful forms. The overall effect brings to mind one of those enameled, Art Deco, metal-mesh handbags from the 1920’s that flappers used to favor.
Extremely rare…a stunning find!

PLEASE NOTE-> The daylight non-flash photos (on the wooden walkway) are the most accurate depiction of the COLORS. They are more muted and subtle than the last two photos would suggest. ADDITIONAL DAYLIGHT CLOSE UP PHOTOS are available upon request, please feel free to message me.

This dress is in EXCELLENT vintage condition, I found no major flaws. It has one of Lillie Rubin’s 1980s era tags and the care tag states that it is hand-washable in cold water, don’t wring, lay flat to dry. It zips up the back with a long acrylic zipper.

The size tag reads a vintage MEDIUM, and I would say that it still holds true. This dress does require a slightly larger bust to fill out the top properly, though. (It looked a bit sadly deflated on my 34″ bust, dang it ;( ..otherwise I’d be keeping it! )
So please pay special attention to the measurements below. They were all taken with the garment laying flat, seam to seam, and have already been doubled where necessary. Please compare them to a similar garment of your own. There is moderate stretch to the fabric.
The lovely Lucy is 5’8″ tall, for reference.
