Introducing a very rare find, indeed…an authentic, vintage 1960’s, Mod Mini Dress! This piece is an excellent example of its era, constructed from a heavy drape, cotton blend, houndstooth embossed fabric and fully lined in acetate. Very high quality construction! It features many uber-cool design details, including a fitted drop waist, asymmetrical wrap-over front closure with awesome decorative buttons, but most brilliant of all— killer sharp pointy lapels that mimic the shape of the houndstooth. GENIUS! That thoughtfulness really implies that this is a higher-end designer piece. I only wish its maker’s tag was still intact, so we could know exactly who it was! But this is obviously not a cheap, mass-produced dress. Everything about it is fun, youthful, edgy…and top notch!

This garment is in very good-excellent vintage condition. I found no major flaws, but I believe that the length of this dress was once shortened from a more traditional, Scooter Girl style, mid-length-> to a mini. I think that the modification was a good call, personally, because it gave this dress a fresher, sexier vibe, for sure. Otherwise, no notable flaws other than typical vintage wear. An amazing example of the 1960’s Mod Fashion/Scooter Girl Movement! All original buttons are intact.

Sizewise, I would classify this piece as a modern Medium. But please see the measurements below. They were all taken with the garment laying flat, seam to seam, and have already been doubled where necessary. Please compare them to a similar garment of your own. There is not much stretch to the fabric, so leave yourself some wiggle room.
The lovely Fiona is 5’10” tall, for reference, and a modern Medium. It fit her perfectly.

Shoulders->15″ ( 38 cm)
Bust->36″ (91+ cm)
Waist->31″ ( 78.5+ cm)
Hips->37″ (94 cm)
Entire length(from the shoulder)->32″ (81+ cm)

It is not likely that you will see this dress anywhere else. And I only have one, so if you love it, don’t let it scoot away!
