Introducing an absolutely breathtaking, champagne-pink, tulle and satin, full length gown by Emma Domb. Emma Domb was a San Francisco, California dressmaking company from 1939 through the 1970s. They specialized in wedding, party, and prom dresses and were also known for fancy-date ensembles.
This particular gown is a lavish example of the high quality and excellence associated with the Domb label. It is a full length, heavy satin concoction with lots of voluminous tulle detailing, an intricate folded origami bustline, spaghetti straps, and a cool hip sash. An lavish, scrumptious gown! Perfect for a lovely whirl or two around the dance floor <3
This gown is in Very-Good vintage condition. There is a single thread pull in the sash that is pretty long, but the dress still presents beautifully. (Please ZOOM on the last photo, for detail. I’ve marked the approximate length of the thread-pull between two arrows, so you’ll know where to look for it.) And there are a couple of small, stray spots, here or there, that are not terribly noticeable when the dress is being worn and may come out completely with a professional spot removal (they look very surfacey). It has already received an overall dry cleaning and is ready to wear. The price has already been reduced to reflect these relatively minor flaws. This gown is still 100% Rockable.
PLEASE NOTE-> Daylight closeup photos are available upon request. Feel free to message me.
This dress closes in back with a metal zipper.
Sizewise, there is no label present, and I would estimate it to be a modern XS-Small. But please see the measurements below. They were all taken with the garment laying flat, seam to seam, and have already been doubled where necessary. Please compare them to a similar garment of your own. There is not much stretch to the fabric.
The lovely Tammy is 5’3″ and a modern XS-Small, for reference. Also of note, she is barefoot for these photos, so you can get a better idea about the length of this gown.
Length of spaghetti strap from top of bodice to top of shoulder->6″ (15 cm)
Total length of straps-> 13″ (33cm)
Entire length from top of shoulder strap to hem->56″ (142 cm)
Emma Domb was the Bomb! A rare and beautiful lil piece of herstory, so if you love it, don’t let it dance away!
The other two dresses seen in this listing are also for sale and can be found in my items.
